CW-X Compression Pants – End of Life Review

After purchasing these CW-X compression pants in 2017 for the Spartan Race season, I found them to be very effective in offering support and warmth in the cold-water crossings and dunk walls.

Made of thick compression materials, with support around the knees, hips and hamstrings, the CW-X worked very well for me over the years.

Unfortunately, following 2023 World’s Toughest Mudder it is time to retire them. Having taken a beating, especially the knee areas from the barbed wire crawls over sharp rocks, the holes have become too large to cover allowing rocks and sand to enter.

I was extremely pleased with these pants for the protection offered during the Spartan Beast’s, through thorn bushes, chaffing sand and gravel, and keeping my muscles working smoothly.

I am uncertain if I will be purchasing the new variations offered as they are quite spendy and with the knee area taking a beating, I’m not certain new ones will withstand Spartan Races.

I will be testing out MudForce compression pants with the incorporated knee pads going forward.

CW-X may be a compression pant that I revisit for World’s Toughest Mudder, or some other colder weather events. If you have another cold weather option, please leave a comment.
